Crockpot Chicken and Barley Soup

Crockpot Chicken Barley Soup Recipe
Recipe adapted from Kalyn's Kitchen

Ingredients:
2 cups diced cooked chicken (or 2 boneless-skinless chicken breasts)
12 cups water
3 T. Better Than Bouillon Chicken base
1 generous T. Better Than Bouillon organic vegetable soup base
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 T dried parsley
1/4 cup dried, chopped onion (or about 1 small onion)
1 cup chopped celery
1-2 cups sliced or diced carrots
1/2 cup barley
 fresh ground black pepper to taste, salt if desired

Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 8-10 hours. Don't give in to the temptation to add more barley! This tastes just like chicken noodle soup but with barley instead of the noodles. It would also be a great way to use leftover turkey!
